Why You Should Always Trust the Universe

2

There are moments in life when shit hits the fan and we begin to doubt everything. We experience fear or pain and the last thing we feel is “good” about God or the Universe. Those are the moments when we often curse God or the Universe. Does any of that sound familiar?

I want to share a recent story with you. For the last 5 days, I was experiencing a huge amount of pain; the left side of my face was hurting terribly. The pain started on Friday night, so I couldn’t see a doctor for 48 hours. On Monday morning, I decided to go see a doctor, who gave me antibiotics. I wouldn’t have been so upset if the pain hadn’t continued to get worse and worse. He also recommended that I see a dentist after I was done with the medication. I went to see a dentist immediately, who told me that I had a root canal issue. If you’ve ever had a root canal before, then I’m sure you remember that level of pain. However, the situation was particularly complicated because I was planning to leave for a trip to Europe 72 hours later. The root canal specialist wouldn’t be able to treat me, as I was about to fly to Europe; the altitude would cause tremendous pressure and consequently, severe pain. My plan was to see a dentist in Slovakia, but when I woke up the next day, the pain was too great. I couldn’t wait any longer.

Moments of Desperation

I was cursing the Universe and God and everything and everyone because the pain was insane. Not even 600mg of ibuprofen helped ease the throbbing in my jaw. I was terrified that I wouldn’t be able to fly; I had been looking forward to this trip for a long time. I decided to call a dentist to schedule me ASAP for the root canal treatment. The fun just kept on coming… I called 4 specialists, but none of them were available on that day. I was so desperate that I begged and pleaded the Universe for a sign or some kind of help. It was at that point that I chose to trust in my intuitive guidance and google my root canal specialist. I don’t always go with instinct, because you never know where you may end up, but that time I decided to trust my gut. After a quick search and surf, I was guided to a dentist and I placed a final call. Surprisingly, the dentist was available 2 hours later. I couldn’t believe it. The inner feeling was so positive and encouraging that I knew I was doing the right thing. I jumped into my car with a massive toothache and drove to see the specialist right away.

The Universe Loves Us – Always

To my pleasant surprise, I arrived at an office where everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. The energy of the place was tranquil and peaceful. The root canal specialist was an older doctor with a very kind smile who made me feel comfortable from the moment I entered. He ended up being a “holistic dentist”, which is something I had NOT been expecting. Suffice to say, I was in shock, but I had no other choice. However, not only did he treat me with love and care, but he also gave me acupuncture and homeopathic remedies as well. I’ve never ever experienced anything like that in my life – especially not in a dentist’s office!

He absolutely made my day! After my visit to his office, the pain was gone and I could safely fly to Europe for my long-awaited trip.

Experiences like those that have made me realize something important: moments of doubts, pain, and fear are moments that test our faith. Those are the critical moments when we need to trust in the Universe and in ourselves. Everything always happens for a reason, even if it appears random or unfair at times. Have faith and be strong!

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well worn path; and that will make all the difference.” – Steve Jobs

Awesome lesson, Marieta! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

I totally feel you there… I’ve had those days too lol. And I agree that we gotta just accept the way things are, and acknowledge it for what it means to us.. There’s usually a lesson to be learned, even though it might be painful to go through in the moment.

I believe it’s the most frustrating, upsetting, annoying, and most painful things that get to us the most, that point out our weaknesses, and push us to grow. 🙂 I believe in embracing the pain, and facing the fear head on, and eventually laugh it off.

Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from one of the coolest movies ever…

“Embrace the pain, and you will win this game.” ~Revolver
